The ancient bronze lamp hovered above his palm. Its flame was no larger than a grain of rice, yet it forcibly tore through the spatial laws defined by Saint Duobao, carving out a path within the Nine-Bend Yellow River Formation.
"Fellow daoist Duobao, it has been a long time."
His voice was unhurried, carrying the calm of an old monk in meditation.
Yet what he did was anything but calm.
With a reach of his right hand, the wisp of lamplight suddenly swelled, transforming into a wall of light that stretched between Duobao and Guangchengzi, forcefully cutting off the Saint's laws that were about to descend.
Duobao's hand remained suspended in midair and did not press down.
He turned around and calmly looked at Randeng.
"Randeng, have you thought this through?"
"Amitabha." Randeng recited a Buddhist invocation, his face utterly placid. "Guangchengzi is the foremost disciple of the Chan Teachings. As the Chan Teachings' Vice Sect Leader, how can this humble one stand by and do nothing?"
"Let today's killing scheme end here."
Xuanyuan stared coldly at him. Though he had withdrawn his Human Emperor True Body, the imperial might of humanity around him remained condensed and undispersed.
"Randeng, if you want to save him, first ask whether my sword agrees."
Kong Xuan was even more direct. He stepped forward and blocked Randeng's path to Guangchengzi. "Oh? The bald monk is here. What, you saw Guangchengzi was about to die and got anxious?"
Bixiao's eyes widened in fury. "Who allowed you to enter the formation?"
Randeng ignored them.
His gaze remained fixed on Duobao. He knew very well that the only one here capable of deciding everything was this newly ascended Saint.
"Fellow daoist Duobao, have you considered this
