The stone gate was neither metal nor jade. Its surface was covered in mottled slash marks and cracks carved by the passage of time, exuding an ancient desolation and heaviness that had endured countless epochs.
Instead of the dragons, phoenixes, and qilins commonly seen in the Primordial Wilderness, the two sides of the gate were branded with majestic phantom images of Buddhas in varied forms, each forming ancient hand seals.
Those Buddhas were completely different from the dharma manifestations of the current Western Teachings. Behind every Buddha's head hung nine divine wheels, and their expressions were solemn and cold, carrying even a trace of the tyrannical, baleful air of beings who ruled over the life and death of all living things.
At the center of the lintel were carved four twisted, ancient Dao Patterns that clearly did not belong to the Primordial Wilderness' writing system.
Yet the instant Jieyin and Zhunti's gazes fell upon those four Dao Patterns, four grand and solemn true sounds of the Great Dao naturally echoed in their sea of consciousness:
