History

The Prehistoric World begins as a wild, spiritually abundant realm inhabited by innumerable races, Innate Creatures, cultivators, spirit plants, and Fierce Beasts. Its abundance allows rapid cultivation, but its lack of security makes it a dangerous hunting ground for the weak 48 197 198.

Di Jun and Tai Yi establish the Demon Court in the Thirty-Three Heavens and attempt to place all spiritually aware birds, beasts, scaled creatures, insects, plants, and sprites into a universal demon registry. This decree causes unrest across the world by forcibly classifying vast numbers of beings as demons under Demon Court rule 128.

As the conflict between the Witch and Demon clans escalates, battlefields become saturated with blood, Evil Qi, shattered weapons, corpses, and damaged terrain. The Great Heavenly Fiend Array and Heavenly Cycle Star Array inflict catastrophic casualties and environmental destruction 330 336.

The final collision of the opposing powers tears open the sky, pulverizes mountains and rivers, evaporates waterways, and reduces enormous regions to chaos dust. The heavens tilt northwest and the earth sinks southeast as the Prehistoric World itself seemingly cries out under the strain 347.

Houtu and the Wu Race establish reincarnation during the aftermath of the conflict. The Six Paths Wheel—Heaven, Human, Asura, Beast, Hungry Ghost, and Hell—forms the foundation of a new Underworld order 414.

After the war, Su Miao surveys a world of shattered islands, drifting landmasses, ruined Earth Veins, and displaced beings. She accepts responsibility for repairing the world into a place where living beings can survive rather than merely be hunted 585.

Her reconstruction work reconnects Earth Veins, regulates Water Veins, reforms the Four Seas into new continents, and restores habitats for creatures such as the Snow Plain beasts 587. She subsequently establishes a world-spanning formation that converts Chaos energy into spiritual energy, ending a prolonged decline in the cultivation environment 592 594.

Ten thousand years later, broken Earth Veins have been reconnected, Spiritual Veins flow again, vegetation has returned, and beings across the Four Continents live in an era described as outwardly peaceful and prosperous 739.
