Background / History

Naruto was born during the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha. Minato sealed the beast's chakra into him, while both Minato and Kushina died from the Nine-Tails' chakra during the incident. Hiruzen Sarutobi assumed custody and concealed Naruto's connection to the Fourth Hokage from the village. Hyuga Baiyue, who had promised Minato to look after Naruto, retained the right to visit him regularly. 55

Naruto's jinchuriki status became known among ordinary villagers, leaving him subject to scorn. Baiyue also discovered that one of Naruto's caretakers was abusing him and exposed the bruises on Naruto's body to Hiruzen. 65 84
