Chapter 475: Light River

The instant the order was given.

Benjamin's consciousness completed its final link with the control cores of the twelve massive cannons.

He "felt" as though he possessed twelve additional "bodies" at once. Each body was a metal pillar thirty meters long and three meters in diameter, its interior inscribed with more than seven million precise runes. At that moment, they were greedily drawing upon the immense reserves of energy stored in the temporary Elemental Pool beneath the fortress.

Then, he turned the "gaze" of those "bodies" toward the region beyond the boundary line on the sand table, where the red points of light were most densely clustered.

Locked on.

There was no need to aim precisely at any individual target.

They only needed to cover that area.

"Fire."

Benjamin spoke softly within his mind.

Outside Fortress No. 7.

Twelve turrets positioned around the fortress simultaneously emitted a deep hum, like colossal beasts awakening.

The multilayered armor plates atop the turrets slid apart to either side, revealing bottomless launch shafts beneath them.

Within those shafts, blinding white light began to gather.

It was no ordinary light. It was a high-density elemental aggregate forcibly stripped of its "energy properties," returned to the most primordial "fire element."

Wherever the light reached, the inner walls of the metal turrets began to show signs of melting, while vast arcs of electricity ionized the air.

Charging.

Then...

Twelve pure white beams, each more than five meters in diameter, erupted from the cannon muzzles.

The beams did not shoot into the sky. Instead, angled slightly downward, they blasted toward the "boundary line" one hundred and twenty kilometers ahead.
