Two mechs dropped from the sky, shaking the ground.
The Blade Warrior and Falcon Goddess mechs had clearly been given fresh paint jobs, unlike after their previous fierce battle. Their movements also seemed much smoother. They landed lightly, no longer crashing down like heavy objects.
The two mechs looked at the outpost, which had been cleaved in half by a single sword strike. The inside was in even worse shape: buildings had collapsed, and blood and the bodies of soldiers were scattered everywhere.
"We're too late!"
A woman's voice came from inside the Falcon Goddess mech.
Blue light shone from the Blade Warrior mech's eyes as it scanned the battlefield. Suddenly, he exclaimed in delight, "There's a survivor!" He strode forward, reaching the outpost ruins in a single step, then cleared away the debris, revealing someone beneath.
It was Cheng Long, covered in blood, his eyes closed as if he had already passed out.
The Falcon Goddess warily scanned their surroundings and asked, "How is he?"
The Blade Warrior mech said gravely, "He's badly injured and unconscious. We need to take him back to the base for treatment!"
The Falcon Goddess scanned the area.
"No enemies detected. They should have left already!"
"Take him with us. Back to the base!"
The Blade Warrior picked Cheng Long up. His body rose into the air, and the Falcon Goddess followed, both of them quickly disappearing into the sky.
At that moment, a figure appeared on a distant mountain. He watched the direction the mechs had gone, but did not pursue them. Instead, he shot into the air. A sword appeared beneath his feet, and his body seemed to merge with it. The sword transformed into a streak of light and shot away.
However, he wasn't pursuing the mechs. He was heading southwest.
