Blackwater Marsh was a three-star danger zone, but it was more terrifying than Giant Wolf Valley.
Swamps stretched in every direction. Bubbles rose now and then from the black, filthy water, spreading a foul stench, while the sky remained perpetually overcast, weighing on the heart.
Countless terrifying mutant beasts lived there. At any moment, a water monster could shoot out of the black water and drag someone into the mud.
But the most dangerous thing was the Poisonous Miasma that lurked everywhere. A mild case of miasma poisoning left a person dizzy and muddle-headed; a severe one brought them crashing to the ground, covered in sores. In the end, they became food for poisonous insects and mutant beasts. The animal and human bones scattered throughout the black water were proof enough of how deadly this place was.
A lone figure moved through the swamp, as leisurely as if strolling through a courtyard.
It was none other than Fang Mo. He had been in Blackwater Marsh for six days now.
He had already ventured hundreds of miles into Blackwater Marsh. Trial Takers were almost impossible to encounter this far in, but the dangers had grown more numerous.
Suddenly, the black water erupted. A black Blood-devouring Poisonous Worm, as thick as a bowl, shot out, its venomous mouth lunging toward Fang Mo.
A blade rang out. Cold light flashed, and the worm's head flew from its body. The headless corpse fell into the black water and thrashed desperately, churning up the mud. An even more rancid stench billowed forth as blood spread through the muck.
Fang Mo didn't even pause. He was already streaking a hundred meters away. He had no interest in a heaven-grade mutant beast like this. Its materials wouldn't fetch much, and harvesting them would only waste his time.
