Background / History

Ms. M first operated from the shadows, ordering Sirius Arepi to monitor Luther Rondal because he carried a “dense aura of the Lord.” Sirius’s report also shows that she had arranged his approach to Luther in advance. 3

At Enmat Harbor, Ms. M openly identified herself as an Aurora Society member. She operated from a building containing the Abyss of Flesh and Blood, a ritual constructed from fused human bodies. Her followers and trafficked victims were treated as expendable offerings; when the Night Watchers disrupted the planned slave transports, she used all available captives to complete the ritual’s numbers. 63 65 66

She presented herself as a Sequence 5 Shepherd and overwhelmed Captain Edward’s team through hypnosis, fire, flesh manipulation, substitutions, and other abilities. This identity was later exposed as a deception: Ms. M was actually a Sequence 6 Hypnotist, with the Rose Ring granting her access to powers belonging to Beyonders it had shepherded. 64 65 119

After surviving the Enmat Harbor conflict, Ms. M was left in a severely deteriorated condition. Her body repeatedly tore apart and regenerated like a broken doll held together temporarily; she attributed these injuries to Luther’s earlier use of a Grade 1 Sealed Artifact against her. 81 89

Ms. M infiltrated Luther and Cecilia Rondal’s home after faking her death. She implanted flesh within both siblings to monitor, torture, and coerce them, then forced Luther to advance to Sequence 8 Listener by threatening Cecilia’s life. 77 78 84

Her pressure on Luther’s advancement was ultimately self-serving. She needed his resilient body and unusual connection to the Illusory Sea to perform a possession ritual, dissolve his flesh and spirituality into herself, and use the resulting spiritual precipitation to become a genuine Sequence 5 Shepherd. 108 111 128

Luther and Cecilia resisted her ritual at a secluded house. Though wounded by the Hidden Sage’s rune, gunfire, a gas explosion, and Cecilia’s attack, Ms. M continued attempting to possess Luther. Her plan briefly succeeded in producing a hybrid body, but the intrusion of the Illusory Sea caused a mental collapse; her physical form became a monstrous mass bearing the faces of Luther and her sacrificial victims before disappearing when Luther regained control. 114 115 117 125 126

Ms. M is an extraordinarily beautiful woman whose appearance is repeatedly contrasted with her coldness and cruelty. Luther describes her as a contradiction: outwardly gentle and refined, yet with an oppressive, inhuman presence. 63 77

Although she initially appears to be a fanatic of the True Creator, Ms. M later states that her true objective was not the True Creator’s mission, but reaching the Illusory Sea—an opportunity she believed could lead beyond the pinnacle of the sequences. 123
