A Teacher's Example

Xiwu Academy.

In the courtyard just inside the gate, the yellow dog beneath the Flower-Decorated Gate was still growling softly.

Pei Ling and Zhong Kui Jingyi paid it no mind. They were still looking at the white-robed man before them.

Ji Changfu said, "My surname is Ji, and my given name is Changfu."

As soon as he said the name, Ji Changfu's heart gave a faint jolt, as though he had made a very serious mistake. But no matter how he racked his brains, he couldn't figure out what was wrong, so he could only set the matter aside for now.

Ji Changfu?

He was certain he'd heard that name somewhere!

Pei Ling frowned slightly, but after thinking it over for a moment, he still couldn't remember anything about the man.

Just then, a sharp reprimand rang out from beyond the Flower-Decorated Gate. The yellow dog immediately fell silent, tucking its tail between its legs as it lay back down.

Amid a fit of coughing, an old teacher with graying hair and beard, a stern face, and a faded blue robe walked out. Seeing the three of them, he furrowed his brows and scolded, "It's already so late. Morning lessons started ages ago, and you're supposed to be teachers, yet here you are dawdling. What kind of conduct is that?"

"Hurry inside and teach!"

Pei Ling, Zhong Kui Jingyi, and Ji Changfu all froze at his words. Then they quickly nodded. "Yes, Master."

All three felt anxious. They were late, and they had to hurry inside to teach the students; otherwise, the consequences would be severe!

They didn't dare delay. Following the old teacher, they hurried through the Flower-Decorated Gate and quickly reached a row of tiled buildings. The buildings were tall and divided into several rooms.
