Background / History

Ci is a transmigrator sent into the shinobi world as a Heaven-Sent Strong Man. He is meant to avert tragedies and improve the world; success would return him to his original world, while failure or evil actions would result in judgment and erasure. The arrangement also includes a 500-million-yuan insurance payout if he dies unexpectedly while fulfilling his role—but intentional suicide voids the compensation. 1

Initially, Ci interprets the rules as an opportunity to engineer a legitimate battlefield death. As an unregistered clan shinobi and low-ranking Genin, he repeatedly seeks missions beyond his station, spends his savings on ninja tools and Explosive Tags, and frames his death-seeking behavior as devotion to Konoha and the Uchiha. 2 6

His repeated confrontations with stronger shinobi activate Steel of the Heart and rapidly turn him from an unawakened Genin into a dangerous, highly adaptive combatant. The Valley of Hell mission becomes his first major test: he confronts Kumogakure’s Moroi alone, develops his combat style around silk-guided projectiles and Fire Style combinations, awakens the Sharingan, and survives despite repeatedly attempting to sacrifice himself. 4 14 20

Setsuna’s decision to save him from a volcanic eruption changes Ci’s outlook. Though frustrated that his planned death was interrupted, Ci begins taking responsibility for the people around him, especially Hidan and the civilians endangered by the Evil God Cult. 24 26 30

Appearance

Ci is a young, underage Uchiha Genin. He typically dresses for field combat rather than ceremony, wearing his clan’s black high-collared robe and carrying extensive ninja equipment. 7 8

  • Black high-collared robe bearing the Uchiha crest. 8
  • Konoha headband, gloves, knee pads, leg-mounted shuriken pouches, foot wraps, and a waist scroll bag. 8
  • Frequently carries large quantities of shuriken, kunai, silk wire, sealing scrolls, and Explosive Tags. 6
  • His Sharingan manifests as a single tomoe in each activated eye. 20 33
  • During the Moroi battle, he covers his bare torso in dense Explosive Tags as a self-detonation threat. 17

Personality

Ci is theatrical, opportunistic, and unusually candid in his internal reasoning. He initially treats heroism, sacrifice, and grand clan rhetoric as tools for arranging an insurance-eligible death, often delivering stirring speeches while privately calculating whether the situation will kill him. 1 3 19

Despite this self-serving starting point, Ci consistently risks himself to protect others. He stays behind against Moroi so Seiichiro can escape with intelligence, uses his barrier to isolate threats from civilians, and fights Kakuzu alone to give Terumi Mei and Hidan a chance to flee. 13 31 45

He is highly adaptable under pressure and tends to turn every encounter into an information-gathering exercise. Against stronger opponents, he probes techniques, weaponizes the environment, salvages enemy materials, and relies on improvisation rather than direct strength. 14 46 47

Ci eventually embraces an overtly ambitious Nindo: overthrowing the Five Great Nations, unifying the ninja world, and ending the cycle of war. His ideals are grandiose, but he insists that they must be pursued through action rather than empty promises. 35

Abilities & Skills

Steel of the Heart

A Heaven-Sent talent represented by a game-like interface and stack system. It rewards Ci’s confrontations with stronger individuals, grants acquired skills, and allows him to track his abilities. 3 4 10

  • Acquired Setsuna’s wire-controlled shuriken technique after challenging him. 4
  • Acquired Phoenix Sage Fire after verbally confronting Seiichiro. 10
  • Acquired incomplete Flesh Rebirth after attacking Shinnosuke. 39
  • Its progression repeatedly complicates Ci’s attempts to die quickly, since danger makes him stronger rather than simply killing him. 3 20

Sharingan

Ci awakened a one-tomoe Sharingan after his attempted self-detonation was neutralized. 20

  • Enhances his perception of projectile paths, chakra movement, and fast attacks. 20 30
  • Gives him a decisive visual advantage in mist and low-visibility combat. 31
  • Lets him imitate observed taijutsu, but he cannot yet copy ninjutsu. 33
  • He lacks formal genjutsu training; against Takeshi, he survives by bluffing that he can cast Sharingan genjutsu. 32 33

Uchiha Style: Thread-Manipulating Shuriken Technique

Ci’s central combat discipline. He uses fine wire or ninja silk to redirect, recover, and coordinate volleys of projectiles at high speed. 4 14

  • Sets wire traps through terrain, scattered kunai, and shuriken to bind or cut opponents. 14 15
  • Combines threads with Fire Style to create attacks such as Dragon Fire Prison. 14 15
  • Uses threads as propulsion lines, including a giant bow-like setup that launches him through Kakuzu’s attacks. 48
  • Reloads his thread spool with severed Earth Grudge Fear threads taken from Kakuzu. 47
  • Requires prepared projectiles, thread anchors, and sufficient battlefield space to reach its full potential. 14 48

Combat Intuition

An S-rank talent that grants Ci instinctive reactions when he is under immediate threat. 10 14

  • Lets him evade attacks his one-tomoe Sharingan cannot fully track, including Kakuzu’s experienced taijutsu. 46
  • Develops further during his battle with Kakuzu, allowing him to dodge and maneuver even through fire, wind blades, falling rocks, and Earth Grudge Fear attacks. 48
  • Works as bodily instinct rather than conscious analysis; Ci can react faster than he can reason. 49

Fire Style

Ci possesses several Fire Style techniques and specializes in combining them with wire-guided shuriken attacks. 10 11 15

  • Phoenix Sage Fire Technique — Fires multiple small flames; Ci uses it to pressure enemies while controlling their movements with projectiles. 10 31
  • Dragon Fire Technique — A focused Fire Style attack that becomes substantially more dangerous when shaped through wire control. 11 15
  • Phoenix Sage Flower Claw Red — A higher-ranked Fire Style variation learned from Setsuna’s teachings. 11
  • Fire Style: Chakra Mode — A forbidden technique that ignites Fire Style chakra from Ci’s heart and drastically enhances his physical power. Full activation is irreversible and expected to kill the user. 37 38 49

Super Deathmatch Barrier

A barrier technique Ci uses to isolate himself and an enemy from allies or civilians. 24 31

  • Pushes allies outside before trapping Ci with hostile targets. 31
  • Allows him to deliberately create one-on-one battles against stronger opponents, including Kakuzu. 45
  • Reflects Ci’s recurring strategy of claiming a battlefield for himself while ordering others to escape. 31 45

Forbidden Jutsu: Flesh Rebirth

An incomplete regenerative technique taken from Shinnosuke. 39

  • Repairs severe injuries, including damage caused by Kakuzu’s taijutsu. 46 47
  • Consumes Ci’s own life force rather than providing consequence-free healing. 47
  • After one use against Kakuzu, Ci estimates that he can use it only twice more before requiring immediate medical treatment. 47

Water Style: Water Fang Blade

A spinning water blade formed around a kunai after Ci observes Terumi Mei’s technique. 46

  • Can sever Kakuzu’s Earth Grudge Fear threads. 46 47
  • Serves as Ci’s principal close-range cutting tool against Kakuzu’s masks and tentacles. 49

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Shuriken, kunai, silk wire, and sealing scrolls — Ci invests heavily in projectile equipment and uses them as the basis of his combat style. 6 14
  • Explosive Tags — He purchases large quantities and uses them both tactically and as an attempted self-detonation method. 6 17 20
  • One-time Ninja Cat contract — Received from a ninja-tool shopkeeper, then gives it to Seiichiro so he can send the mission intelligence. 6 13
  • Sun Halo Dance scroll — An Uchiha S-rank forbidden sword-technique scroll left through Setsuna; Ci memorizes its contents and burns the physical scroll. 25 38
  • Earth Grudge Fear threads — Salvaged from Kakuzu and repurposed as replacement ninja-tool wire. 47
  • Terumi Mei’s ninja-tool pouch — Contains three kunai, ten shuriken, and two Explosive Tags when she lends it to Ci for scouting. 41

Relationships

  • Uchiha Setsuna — Great Elder, mentor, and adoptive grandfather. Setsuna first dismisses Ci as useless, then recognizes his combat potential, saves him from the eruption with Izanagi, and entrusts him with a forbidden sword-technique scroll. 3 16 18 24 26
  • Uchiha Shisui — Fellow Uchiha who mistakes Ci’s death-seeking speeches for selfless devotion. Shisui repeatedly tries to keep Ci away from dangerous missions and volunteers for the Land of Rain mission instead. 1 3 5
  • Uchiha Seiichiro — Initial hostile teammate who blames Ci for placing him on the Valley of Hell mission. Ci’s decision to cover Seiichiro’s retreat changes his view, leading Seiichiro to later attempt a rescue alone. 7 13 29
  • Uchiha Obito — Ci’s neighbor and casual acquaintance. They discuss Obito’s Chunin ambitions before departing on separate missions. 5 8
  • Hidan — Young companion from the Land of Hot Water. Hidan saves Ci after the volcano incident, while Ci tries to keep him from joining the Evil God Cult and promises to help realize his dream of changing the country. 25 34 36
  • Terumi Mei — Ally and self-declared future opponent. She rescues Ci during the Evil God Cult battle, teaches him Water Fang Blade, and joins his mission against the cult for her own objective. 31 36 39 46
  • Shinnosuke — Traveling doctor and leader of the Sky Ninja Village. He heals Ci, joins the group under unclear motives, overwhelms Ci when challenged, and inadvertently gives him Flesh Rebirth. 26 39
  • Moroi — Kumogakure Special Jonin and sealing specialist. Ci battles him in the Valley of Hell operation, repeatedly attempts to use Moroi as the means of his insurance-covered death, and ultimately manipulates him into dying in volcanic water. 14 20 23
  • Kakuzu — S-rank rogue ninja and bounty hunter pursuing Hidan alive. Ci becomes Kakuzu’s opponent after interfering with that mission and traps him in a Deathmatch Barrier for a prolonged battle. 41 42 45

Story Role / Major Arcs

Valley of Hell Mission

Ci forces his way onto the Uchiha mission to the Land of Hot Water, hoping to die in a genuine war zone. Instead, his clash with Setsuna unlocks his shuriken technique, and the mission places him against Kumogakure forces led by Moroi, Ramii, and Dodai. 3 4 9

When Moroi traps him in a barrier, Ci turns the fight into a test of wire control, Fire Style combinations, Explosive Tags, and sheer endurance. He awakens the Sharingan after his planned detonation is stopped, survives a volcano, and is rescued by Setsuna. 14 20 24

Evil God Cult Conflict

After recovering in the Land of Hot Water, Ci becomes involved with Hidan and the Evil God Cult. He first attempts to offer himself as a sacrifice to save Yuko, then traps himself with three cult members and defeats them through projectile barrages, Fire Style, deception, and a bluff involving Sharingan genjutsu. 30 31 32 33

The conflict shifts Ci’s priorities. He rejects Hidan’s path toward cult rituals, promises to become Hidan’s source of strength, and publicly declares his ambition to overturn the Five Great Nations and bring peace to the ninja world. 34 35 36

Assault on the Evil God Cult Headquarters

Ci memorizes the forbidden Fire Style: Chakra Mode and prepares to infiltrate the cult headquarters alone as a suicide mission. Hidan, Terumi Mei, and Shinnosuke join him despite his attempts to leave them behind. 37 38 39

The team’s infiltration is interrupted by Kakuzu, who arrives to capture Hidan. Ci tries to deceive Kakuzu with a fake bankbook, escapes down a cliff with Terumi Mei, then seals himself and Kakuzu inside the Super Deathmatch Barrier so the others can flee. 42 43 45

Battle Against Kakuzu

Ci uses the barrier fight to study Earth Grudge Fear, acquire usable threads, learn Water Fang Blade, and exploit Kakuzu’s masks rather than confront his reinforced body directly. 46 47 49

After binding Kakuzu with his own threads, Ci fully activates Fire Style: Chakra Mode and prepares Final Blade: Farewell against Kakuzu’s Earth Grudge Fear: Final Shot. The clash remains unresolved as of Chapter 50. 49 50
