The black cloud in the southern sky drew closer and closer.
Inuyasha ran at the front, the Red Fang Blade strapped at his waist. The crimson patterns on its blade pulsed violently with his heartbeat, like a beast yearning to break free from its cage.
Sakura followed closely behind, Qinglan Sword in hand. Its blade gave off a faint blue glow, and under the sunlight, its outline was almost impossible to see.
Saku brought up the rear, her sensory power spreading across several miles and clearly presenting everything ahead in her mind.
"Brother Inuyasha, there are demons ahead... lots of them."
Saku's voice came from behind, carrying a trace of tension.
"How many?"
"At least... seventy or eighty..."
Inuyasha's pupils contracted slightly, but he did not slow down. Instead, he sped up.
So what if there were seventy or eighty of them?
He tightened his grip on the Red Fang Blade. The patterns on it pulsed even more fiercely, as if answering his fighting spirit.
"Sister, there's a group on the left... around twenty of them... moving this way."
Sakura's gaze sharpened.
"Inuyasha, take the left. I'll go right."
"Got it."
The three passed through a dense forest, and their view suddenly opened up.
Ahead lay a vast valley.
The valley was a living hell.
Human corpses were scattered across the ground. Some had been gnawed down to bare skeletons, while others still had torn flesh clinging to them. Blood had soaked into the soil, gleaming dark red beneath the sun.
The air was thick with the stench of blood and rot, enough to make one vomit.
Dozens of Wolf Demons prowled through the valley. Some lay on the ground gnawing at human remains, some tore at each other over food, while others crouched atop rocks, their dark red eyes
