The instant the word "Sever" fell, the crimson patterns on the Red Fang Blade seemed to ignite, erupting in a blaze of searing light.
The blade light flew from Inuyasha's hand.
A crimson pillar of light shot straight toward the blood vessel on the left that connected the five hearts.
"Boom!"
The pillar of light struck the blood vessel, splattering dark green fluid everywhere.
A gash was cut into the blood vessel.
The dark red flesh around the wound writhed violently, while dark green fluid poured from the gash and flowed down the vessel's surface like blood.
The wound was healing.
At a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Damn it... this thing's regeneration is that strong?!"
Inuyasha gritted his teeth and was about to swing a second time.
"Inuyasha, stop cutting!"
Sakura's voice came from the darkness.
"Stick the Talisman on it! You can't cut it apart!"
Inuyasha suddenly realized.
He clenched the Red Fang Blade between his teeth, pulled out the Talisman from his waist, held it between his fingers, and charged toward the blood vessel.
Evil aura surged in from every direction, crushing his body and eroding his consciousness.
The crimson light around him flickered on and off like a lamp swaying in the wind.
"Left! Three Evil Spirits are coming at you from the left!"
Saku's voice rang in all three of their minds, filled with obvious tension.
"Inuyasha, they're two feet behind you... turn around!"
Inuyasha spun around, pulled the Red Fang Blade from his mouth, and slashed sideways.
The crimson blade light swept out in an arc, knocking all three charging Evil Spirits away at once.
After being sent flying, the Evil Spirits rolled across the ground several times before climbing back up.
"I told you that you can't kill them by cutting them!"
