And now the world's second-ranked team had lost two matches in a row, putting them on the brink of elimination. It was certainly a shocking turn of events.
But after thinking about the opponents Japan Team had defeated on their way through the World Tournament, the spectators began to feel that it all made sense.
After all, they had beaten Germany Team, the world's number one, and America Team, the world's number five.
Although there was still some debate over their victory against Germany, it was enough to show that Japan Team had come into the tournament with unstoppable momentum.
But with this doubles match over, Switzerland Team had been pushed right to the edge of the cliff.
If they lost one more match, they would set a new record for the worst result in Switzerland Team's history.
They would also become the first former member of the world's top four to fail to make the BIG4 at this World Tournament.

Looking at the jubilant Japan Team across the court, Amadeus sighed inwardly.
