Uchiha Mai naturally would not let Danzo brush this off so easily. Expressionless and cold-eyed, he spoke in Root's coded language. "Do you think I can't understand what you're saying?"
Danzo's pupils suddenly contracted, and his face turned ugly. Root's coded language had actually been deciphered. Whether there was a mole or not, it proved that Uchiha Mai had definitely been monitoring and investigating Root.
More importantly, he had just spoken ill of Uchiha Mai, and Mai had heard every word. Given the relationship between the two, this matter could not possibly be brushed aside so easily.
A chill ran down Danzo's spine. Just as he was about to explain, he saw Uchiha Mai suddenly move, turning into a streak of black light as he left his original position.

Uchiha Mai's punch shocked everyone present. The killing intent he had tempered through countless battles and slaughter was almost tangible, pressing down on Danzo until breathing became difficult.

Danzo had killed many people as well, but his methods were closer to "execution" and "torture." Most of his victims had been defenseless civilians and children.
