The shattered underground hall was littered with demon corpses.

The human troops had no choice but to carefully make sure the demons were truly dead, afraid they might be playing dead and suddenly spring up to ambush them from both sides.

"Th-this..." At the sight of so much "food," Sargathas instantly shook off her exhaustion. Like a delighted little butterfly, she fluttered around everywhere. Whenever she found a powerful demon corpse, she would sometimes happily call for Varian to take out the Blade of the Dark Empire and stab it once.

At other times, she would click her tongue in disgust, as though she had seen something revolting, and immediately flee—the demons had been dead too long, their souls had already returned to the Twisting Nether, and their corpses had begun to stink.

Seeing such an obviously unreliable High Elf among the group, Magni Copperbeard, king of Ironforge and one of Varian's friends, quietly advised him, "Varian, we're at war. Don't spoil your elf woman too much. Everyone's watching."

The king of Stormwind City chuckled bitterly inwardly. "It's fine. She's special. We need her for this battle."

The dwarf stroked his beard and nodded thoughtfully.

On the other side, the Red Dragon Queen also noticed the High Elf darting about. Vereesa's troops had remained outside, leaving only Lisha Starwind here, which made her especially conspicuous.

Alexstrasza had initially thought that Varian keeping an Elf at his side was some sort of friendly gesture. But now that they had gone deep underground to prepare for a decisive battle against an Old God, and he had even brought along such an improper female Elf, she sensed that something was off.

After probing further, she detected an unfamiliar magical fluctuation emanating from the High Elf, causing the Red Dragon Queen to grow suspicious.
