While Suramar was revitalized by a drop of Eternal Well Water, another negotiation concerning the fate of an entire race was quietly underway in Ashenvale Forest, far to the north of Kalimdor.

After Malfurion sent an envoy to the Horde to convey his willingness to negotiate, Thrall responded swiftly.

Following several rounds of discussion, both sides decided to send their highest leaders to speak directly and determine Ashenvale's future.

The negotiations were held in an open woodland clearing, located right in the middle of the territory where both sides had faced off. This had once been one of the fiercest battlefields between them. Now, most traces of war had been cleared away, but the scorched marks on the ground and broken arrows still silently spoke of its cruelty.

The Night Elf representative was Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage. Several veteran Druids stood behind him, watching the Orc representatives warily, though their eyes also revealed a yearning for peace. The brutal war had claimed too many lives and continued to torment the survivors.

The Horde's representative was Great Chieftain Thrall. The young Orc Shaman wore simple leather armor and carried Doomhammer. He knew well that the Horde had suffered severe losses in this conflict and needed time to lick its wounds and recover. Thus, he too wished to achieve peace.

Before the Orcs, the Druids cast Nature Magic. Before long, all manner of miraculous plants sprouted from the clearing and wove themselves into tables and chairs. Malfurion invited everyone to sit down, and the negotiations began.
