Under Azshara's lead, the group walked out onto the street, where the newly assembled Duskwatch stood in neat square formations.

Their purple armor gleamed coldly beneath the magical radiance of the restored Eternal Well, while Arcane Energy flowed faintly over the soldiers' weapons and Staffs. On the surface, they were an elite force, well equipped and strictly disciplined.

"Not bad, Alysande. The Duskwatch certainly looks impressive." Azshara glanced over them and immediately offered praise.

Thalyssra and Alysande stood behind Azshara, both wearing faint, barely perceptible expressions of pride. This force represented the foundations Suramar had accumulated over ten thousand years.

Clearly, they still vividly remembered how the Duskwatch had been slaughtered when they last besieged Deren's group. When the guards saw Aegwynn and the Night Elves emerge, each of them straightened up, putting on a brave and fearless display. They had simply been beaten too badly last time.

"Thank you for Your Majesty's praise." Alysande had lived through the War of the Ancients and had once served under Azshara. Later, however, the two had gone their separate ways during the war. After ten thousand years, they had somehow become superior and subordinate once more.

This Duskwatch was the foundation of her rule over Suramar. How could ten thousand years possibly have passed peacefully? From time to time, power struggles and resistance from the lower ranks had arisen, and only the Duskwatch's forceful suppression had kept Suramar and her authority stable.

Now, Azshara was sending the elite of the Duskwatch out to fight partly so Thalyssra could reorganize her power. That way, Suramar's two great powers would be evenly matched and able to check one another. Everyone present understood this perfectly well, but it was inconvenient to say aloud.
