Background

Mingde Hall is an institution comparable in standing to Shrek Academy's Sea God's Pavilion. It is tied to the Hongchen Family and specializes in Soul Tool development and Soul Engineer cultivation. Although Jing Hongchen held firm control over its core, the Crown Prince retained some ability to interfere in its affairs before the Shrek partnership was established. 9 18 22

Yue Hongchen initially cited Mingde Hall to refuse Tang Ya's invitation to the Tang Sect, claiming he was expected to succeed Jing Hongchen. He later clarified that he had used Xiao Hongchen's heir status as an excuse; Xiao was the actual heir at that time. 9 12

Mingde Hall became Yue's intended destination for talented Soul Engineers. He invited Xing Yueyao to join after graduation because her Chessboard Martial Soul was highly suited to Soul Tool development. 13 14

Shrek Academy Cooperation

After Yue publicly demonstrated the threat of high-level Fixed Soul Tool Cannons during the freshman assessment, Shrek's leadership sought deeper cooperation with the Hongchen Family. Yue proposed a reciprocal branch-school arrangement based on Shrek's superiority in Soul Master cultivation and Mingde Hall's superiority in Soul Engineer training. 20 21 22

Branch Hall

Mingde Hall dispatched nine high-level Soul Engineers to Shrek for the branch hall's establishment: one semi-eight-ring Soul Engineer, three seven-ring Soul Engineers, and five six-ring Soul Engineers. 24

The integrated branch hall is described as technologically far more advanced in environment than Shrek's Martial Soul Department. Fan Yu returned as Outer Court Vice Dean and worked alongside Mingde Hall Soul Engineers, while Huo Yuhao trained there under Fan Yu and Zhang Jingyi in the extreme single-soldier plan. 25

Recruitment

• Xing Yueyao — Yue invited her to join Mingde Hall after graduation due to the Soul Engineer potential of her Chessboard Martial Soul; she deferred her decision. 14
