Background
Cuntoucao lost his parents young and survived through the support of multiple households. Long Wen’s unusual kindness gave him a sense of belonging, making him fiercely loyal and willing to carry out violent work for Long’s group 31.
During an assault on a bus driver ordered by Long Wen, he was publicly praised and rewarded with a “bun.” After copying the others and smoking it, he became addicted; the group gave him the nickname “Cuntoucao” because of his short hair. He eventually realized the “bun” was drugs, but by then could no longer free himself from addiction 31.
He later adopted Xiao Yanni despite lacking sufficient documentation about her mother. For years, he unsuccessfully sought a household registration for her, and the repeated refusals turned his disappointment with the police into resentment 32.
Appearance
Cuntoucao’s defining visible trait is his short-cropped hair, which gave rise to his nickname 31.
- During drug withdrawal, he is described as pale, drowsy, and physically weakened 34 35.
- Following the assault near Rainbow Bridge, he suffers a broken leg, severe head pain, and later cerebral hemorrhage 45.
Personality
Initially, Cuntoucao is aggressive, distrustful of police, and unwilling to cooperate under interrogation. He tries to provoke Tong Haojing and withholds information about Long Wen’s activities even after admitting his own drug use 32.
His devotion to Xiao Yanni repeatedly reveals a stronger conscience beneath his criminal behavior. Her welfare motivates him to endure withdrawal, seek rehabilitation, reject further drug use, and ultimately risk retaliation by informing Tong Haojing about Long Wen’s organization 34 37 44.
He is deeply loyal by nature: first to Long Wen, whom he regarded as family, and later to Tong Haojing, whose help with Xiao Yanni’s registration earns his gratitude and trust 31 40 44.
Criminal Activities and Informant Work

Informant Activities
After Tong Haojing helped resolve Xiao Yanni’s household-registration issue, Cuntoucao began secretly providing intelligence on Long Wen’s group.
- Warned Tong Haojing about drug sales, gang conflict around Hongdu Entertainment City, and possible police involvement in concealing an earlier fight 40.
- Reported Long Wen’s planned pickup of goods at the Hedong Province border, despite suspecting the operation might be a trap 44.

Story Role
Arrest and Xiao Yanni’s Registration
Tong Haojing traced Cuntoucao through an ID card lost after a fight at Hongdu Plaza. When Cuntoucao returned home with bread for Xiao Yanni, Tong arrested him after a struggle in which Cuntoucao wielded a fruit knife 31.
Cuntoucao’s concern for his daughter led Tong Haojing to investigate Xiao Yanni’s lack of household registration. Although Cuntoucao initially only admitted to drug use, the registration issue opened a channel of trust between them 32. Public attention generated through Zhao Minhui’s reporting ultimately helped resolve Xiao Yanni’s case, for which Cuntoucao presented a letter of thanks and banner to the police 37.
Return to Long Wen’s Crew
Following community-based rehabilitation, Cuntoucao returned to Long Wen’s orbit and participated in a gang attack on rivals in Hongdu. Although rewarded with ¥10,000, he viewed Tong Haojing’s help and Xiao Yanni’s future as reasons to abandon his former life 38.
Exposure and Retaliation
Cuntoucao’s intelligence work made him a target of suspicion within Long Wen’s crew. Hu Pan came to believe he was responsible for exposing the switched reward envelopes and possible police leaks 43 44.
While spending time with Xiao Yanni near Rainbow Bridge, Cuntoucao was ambushed by three masked attackers. Before losing consciousness, he called Tong Haojing for help and tried to speak about Yanni and “poison” 45.
