Yaozhen arrives at the Ning estate as an Imperial Capital envoy, evaluates Ning Xuan's blade technique, and reads the imperial decree appointing him General Anyuan over Wangyue and Ping'an Prefectures. She reveals that she will remain with him as part of the Divine General Plan, linking them through Whisper before departing. 35

Ping'an Prefecture and Blackwater Village

She accompanies Ning Xuan's army toward Ping'an Prefecture and identifies herself as a half-step Third-Rank Celestial Master during the investigation of the nonexistent Ice Mountain. 36 At Blackwater Village, she helps confront Human Skins, scouts the Sheep Demon’s forces, and evacuates Ning Xuan from the canyon ambush. 37 38 39
