Paths to Sainthood
Dao Ancestor Hongjun identifies three means of becoming a Saint: proving the Dao with strength, accumulating immeasurable merit, or slaying the Three Corpses and using Primordial Violet Qi to entrust the Primordial Spirit to the Heavenly Dao 13.
- Proving Dao with Strength — A direct but extremely difficult path to transcendent power 13.
- Merit Sainthood — Requires immeasurable merit on the scale of opening the heavens, creating life, or mending the heavens 13.
- Nuwa became the first Saint after creating the Human Race and receiving vast merit 42.
- Three-Corpse Dao — The cultivator slays the Good, Evil, and Self-Obsessed Corpses with Innate Spiritual Treasures, then uses Primordial Violet Qi to complete the Dao fruit 13.
Primordial Violet Qi
Primordial Violet Qi is the foundation for Sainthood. Hongjun declared that eight Saint positions remained and distributed strands of the qi among his disciples and selected great powers 13.

Saintly Authority
- A Saint possesses an infinite Primordial Spirit and insight into the laws and beings of the Great Desolation 178.
- Dao Xuan, upon becoming a Saint, suppressed the Sea of Blood's turmoil and Old Ancestor Minghe with a single thought 178.
- Saintly power is regarded as fundamentally beyond that of non-Saints; even a Sub-Saint enduring three full attacks from Zhunti was treated as unprecedented 105 106.
- Saints can establish sects and religions, shape the distribution of fortune, and influence the fate of entire races 47 48.
- Dao Xuan used his newly attained Sainthood to activate the Investiture of the Gods and compel listed true spirits into Heavenly Court positions 178.
Major Events
Distribution of Saint Positions
Hongjun announced the remaining Saint positions at Purple Heaven Palace and bestowed Primordial Violet Qi upon his disciples, Jieyin, Zhunti, and Old Ancestor Hongyun 13.
Founding of the Six Saints
Nuwa's creation of the Human Race began the Saint era. Laozi subsequently founded the Human Religion, while Yuanshi, Tongtian, Jieyin, and Zhunti established their own sects and attained Sainthood 42 47 48.
Mending of the Heavens
After Buzhou Mountain collapsed, the Six Saints temporarily held the damaged sky together while Nuwa prepared to mend it. They also disputed ownership of the Chaos Bell and Qiankun Cauldron amid the catastrophe 76.
Investiture of the Gods
The Saints repeatedly convened at Purple Heaven Palace to determine how the Heavenly Court's vacant positions would be filled. Dao Xuan's proposal, “Empty List Responding to Calamity, Each Relying on Their Own Abilities,” left the list largely unfilled before the calamity began 118 132.
Dao Xuan's ascension during the final conflict allowed him to settle the calamity, enfeoff the gods, and become the Great Desolation's highest active authority 178.
War Against Rahula
Dao Xuan and the other Saints later joined forces against Rahula. Their combined power sealed him within a Seven-Colored Glazed Ball, though a crack in Chaos remained as a future threat 215.
