A Marriage Edict

Just from the eager look on Cheng Shaoshang's face, Wang Yue could tell what she wanted without giving it much thought. The little girl had remembered how good Young Master of Wealth was at making money. Seeing how pitiful the people of Hua County were, she wanted him to find a way to help them rebuild their homes and leave the county with a source of income.

Wang Yue thought it over and decided it was no big deal. As he considered what to do, he walked a few steps away with Cheng Shaoshang, then lowered his voice. "You know I'm a general who commands troops. If I invest in rebuilding Hua County, it'll look like I'm trying to win the people's hearts. Do you think that would end well for you?"

Cheng Shaoshang was stunned for a moment before realizing how rash she had been. She looked at the injured filling the room and the devastation throughout the city, then asked with a troubled expression, "What should we do, then? The houses of many wealthy families are still in good shape, but the poor people's homes have mostly been destroyed. You're full of ideas. What do you think?"

Seeing how much Cheng Shaoshang trusted him made Wang Yue happy. He had already prepared for this, so he smiled and said, "Your Third Uncle is the most influential person in Hua County right now. The proper thing is to have him step forward."
