At that moment, Wang Yue yearned more than anything to live forever—or at least to live longer. If he could live forever, or for a thousand years, he wouldn't have to worry about this. He would only need to live until Cui Shiyi was reborn in the modern era.
But what could he do now?
Wang Yue was dejected for a long time, but still couldn't think of a solution. He was terribly discouraged.
As he recalled everything he had learned in the various worlds, he suddenly thought of the brainwave technology he had studied in Ode to Joy. Although he hadn't perfected it, he had managed to read some brainwave data. There were also the drugs Ye Zhenzhen had developed for putting cryogenically frozen people to sleep and waking them up, though they hadn't yet been tested.
It was as if Wang Yue had suddenly found a lifeline. He already knew how to prepare all the drugs needed for cryogenic freezing. Although the technology was quite different, he could use his internal energy to extract the necessary substances, so the gap wasn't insurmountable.
But although Wang Yue had studied brainwave technology, he hadn't yet succeeded in testing it. For now, he had only mastered the basics of reading brainwaves, with a success rate of just 60%.
In Wang Yue's view, anything below a 90% success rate in reading brainwaves counted as basic. A success rate between 90% and 99% was intermediate to advanced. The final one percent was the ultimate level of reading.
Wang Yue needed to take brainwave research to the ultimate level—not just reading, but writing, too. Only then could he hope to wake himself up and see Shiyi again.
If either reading or writing failed to reach the ultimate level, using cryogenic technology would be disastrous.
