The Divine Beast nodded and immediately explained to Wang Yue, "The Water Spirit Pearl was stolen ten years ago. I only have the Fire Spirit Pearl here. The Wind Spirit Pearl is with the phoenix. You'll need to pay your respects to Empress Nuwa and ask where the phoenix is."

Wang Yue bowed. At the word "stolen," he instinctively glanced at Li Xiaoyao, but then remembered that ten years ago, the guy had still been a little boy. He put the thought aside and said solemnly, "Don't worry, Divine Beast. We'll find them."

The qilin said nothing more. It spat out a pearl, and just as Wang Yue reached to pick it up, it suddenly rammed into a stone pillar nearby, breaking off one of its horns.

Wang Yue hadn't expected the qilin to do that. He'd originally hoped it would help him fight Baiyue, so he asked suspiciously, "Big Brother Qilin, what are you doing?"

The qilin didn't mind Wang Yue calling it that. To a Divine Beast thousands of years old, everyone was still a child; by that measure, the form of address was perfectly reasonable. It said casually, "I've guarded this place for the Nuwa Clan for thousands of years. Nuwa's descendants are often injured, and when they are, they need a qilin horn for treatment. I'm used to it. You said Zhao Ling'er would be fighting Baiyue, so she'll likely get hurt. I can't come out whenever you need me, so take this horn with you, just in case."
