A False Start-and Already Soaked

Wang Yue was at a loss. Seeing the two brats' faces, anyone who didn't know better would think they were about to fight. But he was sure they weren't looking for a fight with him. They were trying to intimidate him into answering their questions.

Wang Yue wasn't the sort to be scared off by two brats. He bumped them both aside with his shoulders, making them stumble, then walked between them. Under Xu Youshu and Jiang Wu's stunned gazes, he headed for the washroom and said disdainfully, "If you're asking someone for a favor, you should at least act like it."

Jiang Wu and Xu Youshu exchanged a look. Their intimidation tactic had always worked, so they hadn't expected Wang Yue to be immune. Now they were both a little embarrassed.

After a while, Jiang Wu saw that Xu Youshu was too awkward to know what to do. He decided he needed to clear things up with Wang Yue, so he hurried after him. Wang Yue was squeezing toothpaste onto his toothbrush, and Jiang Wu asked, "Hey, we didn't mean anything by that just now. We only wanted to ask you something."

Wang Yue knew what they were after, but he didn't intend to turn them down. Lin Xiangzhi was like a compressed spring right now; anyone who tried to approach her would get pushed away hard. He wanted to let Xu Youshu test the waters, too, so he brushed his teeth and said, "Go ahead. I'm listening."

Jiang Wu didn't get straight to the point. Instead, he changed the subject and asked, as if out of curiosity, "Where in Qingcheng are you from? I go around there a lot. Maybe we've even met."

Wang Yue didn't hide the answer. Anyone could find out with a little asking around.
