As soon as Fan Kuai heard there'd be food, he put his other thoughts aside and happily rode ahead. He went to find out which restaurant was the most popular, leaving Wang Yue and Lu Su to ride along at an easy pace.

Before long, Fan Kuai returned from asking around, looking very excited. "I just found out that everyone in town says a restaurant has a new Head Chef. His cooking is amazing, and he can make all kinds of dishes people have never seen before. They're all delicious. Let's go try some."

Seeing how excited Fan Kuai was, Wang Yue knew the fellow must have gone to the restaurant to smell the food. He laughed and scolded him, "Lead the way. I'll make sure you eat your fill today."

Fan Kuai knew his master had seen right through him, but he wasn't embarrassed. What did pride matter? It was nowhere near as important as food. He grinned shamelessly and said, "If we can get some packed up, it'd be even better. Then we can eat on the road."

Fan Kuai looked so eager to eat that Wang Yue grew curious, too. What kind of delicious food had Fan Kuai smelled that made him want to take some away?

When the three of them reached the restaurant, they found it was indeed packed. Nearly every table was full, and people were even sitting outside.

Wang Yue wasn't particularly fussy about food, so he said helplessly, "Should we wait, or go somewhere else? There are just too many people."

Fan Kuai rubbed his round belly, looking conflicted. After giving it some serious thought, he said, "Master, Madam, how about we wait a little longer? I can hold out."
