Wang Shouyi knew Cheng Hao was right. With Wang Yue's ability to make so much money so easily, he could live very comfortably even if he didn't become a police officer. Besides, with a father and wife who were both police officers, the job might not even be right for him.
Most importantly, Wang Shouyi felt that with his daughter-in-law in the force, even if Wang Yue wasn't a police officer, their family's presence in the police system wouldn't end with his generation. The future would be up to his grandchildren.
After a great deal of inner conflict and a long talk with Cheng Hao, Wang Shouyi finally let go of his worries. That afternoon, he calmly picked up Director Song's furious call and listened to him scold him.
Faced with Director Song's accusations, Wang Shouyi remained completely unruffled. He even answered with unusual firmness. "Director Song, you can't hear one complaint and immediately assume the worst. Aren't you supposed to protect the officers on the front lines? If you keep acting like this, how are we supposed to do our jobs? Wang Yue and Xia Jie handled things perfectly. Why should they apologize? Wang Yue's complaint is entirely reasonable. This is a matter for the hospital's leadership. Why are you sticking your nose into it?"
Director Song hadn't expected Wang Shouyi to be so forceful this time. He hadn't tried to smooth things over at all. Knowing his former mentor as well as he did, he immediately guessed that Wang Shouyi no longer had anything to worry about.
The only reason Wang Shouyi would have nothing to worry about was if the person involved didn't care at all. That could only mean Wang Yue had married Xia Jie and no longer wanted to be a police
