The Upstairs and Downstairs
As they listened to the countdown outside, Qiao Yingzi hurriedly wrote down her wish. The three of them heard someone running up the stairwell, and Wang Yue and Huang Zhitao both instinctively looked over. Even Qiao Yingzi glanced over while she kept writing.
By the time Qiao Yingzi finished, the countdown had reached two. The three of them had no time to see who was coming up before they were about to release their balloons, when they heard the person finally reach the rooftop.
Fang Yifan's voice rang out just then. He ran as he shouted, "Wait! Save a spot for me!"
Wang Yue, Qiao Yingzi, and Huang Zhitao turned around together again and saw that Fang Yifan had made it. Judging by how hard he was panting, he'd run all the way there. Seeing how anxious he looked, the three of them instinctively held on to their balloons instead of letting go.
Fang Yifan hurried over and came to a stop beside them, still gasping for breath. He hadn't even had time to say anything when they heard the signal to release the balloons from downstairs.
So, the instant they heard the signal, Wang Yue and Qiao Yingzi let go together. Fang Yifan shamelessly stood beside Huang Zhitao, and just like that, three balloons soared into the sky.
After the balloons had risen, Fang Yifan stared up at them, trying to see what Huang Zhitao's wish was. But they were flying too fast, and he couldn't make it out.
As he watched, though, he suddenly felt that something was off. The balloons were floating across the sky, one, two, three...
Huh? Three?
Fang Yifan belatedly realized what was missing. He turned back to the other three and asked, confused, "Why are there only three balloons?
