"Fourth Wallfacer, Dr. Luo Ji."

In a hotel somewhere in Shangjing, Alvin swirled his glass in the luxurious penthouse suite. His gaze shifted from the orange, bubbly drink to Luo Ji, who seemed to be daydreaming at the podium on the television.

"So it's finally starting." The corner of his mouth lifted as he took a sip of the sparkling wine.

The Wallfacer Project was a strategic plan to deceive and resist the Trisolarians' invasion of Earth by relying on the utmost in individual strategy and intellect, along with the advantages of sealed-off thought.

The reason for this was actually simple. In the face of the "Sophons" created by the Trisolarian civilization, human fundamental science had been locked down. Humanity couldn't make any further progress, let alone accomplish the near-mythical feat of a technological leap before the Trisolaran fleet arrived.

Second, as time passed, more and more "Sophons" would reach Earth. This meant that any public military strategy, plan, or action would be completely exposed to them!

Humanity had no secrets from the Sophons!

Given these two factors, humanity had only one path available. If they didn't want to be destroyed by the Trisolarian civilization, they could only use the limited technological strength they had to fight a more advanced civilization.

But that would be like throwing an egg at a rock.

Thus, after an in-depth discussion among the leaders of various nations, the United Nations Planetary Defense Council created the "Wallfacer Project."

At its core, the Wallfacer Project relied on the fact that Trisolarian thoughts were transparent, while the nature of human language made it impossible to truly understand the inner thoughts of every individual. This created a unique "sealed-off" quality—and in the struggle against the Trisolarian civilization, it was humanity's only advantage for now.
