The next morning.
Luo Ji was still lost in sleep when someone roughly woke him and dragged him out of bed.
He opened his bleary eyes and looked at the person who had barged into his room and pulled him out of bed. His tone was less than friendly. "Who are you?"
"Good morning, Mr. Luo Ji."
The man who had entered the room had a square face and wore glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. He looked quite upright and respectable.
He spoke in a steady voice, adjusting his glasses slightly before saying, "I'm sorry to disturb you so early, but there's something I need to ask you about."
"All right..." Luo Ji sighed. He figured they were here to ask about Shi Qiang again, so he nodded. "Fine. Is this about Shi Qiang?"
The square-faced middle-aged man shook his head. "You already gave a full account of what happened to Mr. Shi Qiang yesterday. I'm not here to ask about that. It's about something else."
"Something else?"
Luo Ji was a little confused. What else could there be?
"May I ask what time Inquisitor Akin Leiden left last night? And what did the two of you talk about?"
As the square-faced middle-aged man asked, his gaze stayed fixed on Luo Ji's face, as if watching for the slightest change in his expression.
"Inquisitor Akin Leiden?" Luo Ji blinked. He still didn't quite understand, but answered honestly. "Inquisitor Akin Leiden asked me for some details about Shi Qiang's murder. I told him everything. As for when he left... I think it was around nine ten."
"Are you sure about the time?"
The square-faced middle-aged man stared intently at him. "Mr. Luo Ji, this is very important to me."
"Yes, I'm sure." Luo Ji nodded, then explained why.
