Background / History

The Federation was founded 930 years before the reclamation of Earth by human Pioneers who crossed wormholes aboard the Autumn Chrysanthemum, reached United Star, and established a new human polity. The earliest Pioneers died before they could return to Earth, making the planet a sacred ancestral homeland to later Federal citizens. 12

In its original universe, the Federation developed faster-than-light travel after more than a century and spent several centuries fighting alien civilizations. When it was nearly subjugated by a godlike power, Chen Yu obtained the Civilization Template System and led a thirty-year counteroffensive. The Federation expanded through Titan Fleets, resource plunder, and diplomacy, eventually controlling nearly half of the Milky Way and becoming the Star Sea Community's sole dominant voice. 1

Its rise carried a hidden cost: the Federation signed a fifty-year contract with a supreme Void God, under which all civilizational assets would be collected at the contract's end. The continuing risk of that agreement later drove its effort to construct the Aether Phase Engine. 1 18

The entire Federation later transmigrated into an unfamiliar Milky Way. Only 500 star systems around the Tianjin Star System and United Star arrived with it; their fleets and facilities remained intact, but the rest of its former territory was absent. The new galaxy contained mostly pre-FTL civilizations, which the Federation classified as natives. 1

Government and Doctrine

The Federation is explicitly authoritarian and fanaticly xenophobic. It divides civilizations into itself and aliens, treating non-integrated mechanical intelligences and alien species as external threats by default. Gray Wind and Xidra are exceptions because their loyalty is considered absolute. 5 37

Its expansionist policy is framed as humanity's Manifest Destiny: conquer the Milky Way, occupy its star systems, and enslave or eliminate native civilizations. The Federation's officials regard diplomacy with weaker powers as a means of extortion or strategic delay rather than coexistence. 12 17

The Federation's collective will is central to its rule. Chen Yu can project his will onto any Federal citizen and influence their minds, while the accumulated will of Federal citizens also affects him. Collective hatred toward an alien race can increase citizen cohesion and strengthen the psionic power of the Federation's population. 18

Treatment of conquered populations

  • Native alien civilizations may be exterminated, enslaved, de-evolved into animals for display, or confined in alien zoos. 1 14
  • Earth humans were genetically confirmed to be the same race as the Autumn Chrysanthemum Pioneers and were designated for assimilation rather than extermination. 13
  • After occupying Earth, the Federation imposed military management while providing unrestricted food, water, entertainment, housing, and medical care. 13
  • Earthlings were slated for re-education through Thought Stamps and an Artificial Moral Code before Earth was remodeled into a Gaia Planet and incorporated into the Federation. 13
  • Captured alien figures and former Earth defenders were exhibited in the Museum Celestial Pivot, a combined space museum and ecological zoo. 15

Capabilities & Strategic Systems

Psionic, Gene, and Prosthetic Ascensions

Every Federal citizen has undergone Psionic, Gene, and Prosthetic Ascensions, which respectively grant powerful spirit-medium abilities, enhanced flesh, and advanced cybernetic thought processes. 5 19

  • Nearly every citizen is a Psionic; newborns receive Restriction Rings to suppress their power and limit civilian misuse. 15
  • Only military personnel may freely remove their Restriction Rings. Psionic Troops require at least a 35-ring Psionic rating for recruitment. 15
  • Federation Psionic Warriors are highly resistant to mental attacks and can conduct direct mind-targeting attacks, barriers, reality-warping heat effects, and large-scale battlefield control. 11 49 50
  • Standard Cyberlex Warframes remain in service even after the ascensions; their combat capability is stated to rival Psionics above Level 95. 36

Fleet Warfare

The Federation fields Titan Fleets, mixed fleet groups, transport formations, engineering vessels, and later super-battleship fleets. Its First Federal Fleet alone included thirty Afang Palace-class Paradox Titan Battleships and more than 3,000 warships. 5

  • The First Federal Fleet annihilated the Taotie Fleet near Pluto within an hour before beginning the occupation of Earth. 5
  • Army Troops use Quantum Teleportation to deploy Psionic Troops, Mechanical Support Clusters, Gene Warrior Legions, Replicant Troops, Cyberlex Warframes, and Alien Troops across a planet within minutes. 6
  • The Return to Void-class Sky Burning Divine Weapon Gonggong destroyed Lieyang's 1,300-ship vanguard fleet in a single clash. 20
  • After accelerated development, a standard main battle fleet consists of one Star System Battleship, five Behemoth Planet Battleships, and twelve Moons of War. 48

Spatial Denial and Interstellar Defense

The Federation can interfere with wormholes, block energy supply lines, and defend whole star systems against superluminal attacks. 9 31

  • The Casimir Effect Amplification Device forced Demon One out of a Wormhole Jump near Saturn and cut off its remote stellar-energy supply. 9
  • Potent Casimir Reinforcement Matrices can seal an entire star system in quantum foam, preventing wormhole-sensitive targets from escaping. 49
  • Falling Star Sky Spears deliver superluminal interstellar strikes; thirty Spears destroyed thirty Angel Nebula star systems in one wave. 29
  • The Tianshu Sacred Shield employs Shelter Star Rings and a pan-galactic defense network to reroute and neutralize incoming strikes. 31

Industrial and Temporal Development

The Federation's expansion depends on celestial engineering, dark-matter extraction, and accelerated time. 18 47 48

  • Guixu structures surround black holes and extract dark matter efficiently; 5,468 were constructed during the ten-year acceleration period. 48
  • Stellar Gravity Shipyards occupy an entire star system's gravitational well to manufacture super-battleships. 48
  • The Spacetime Acceleration Protocol accelerated time inside Federation territory by ten years, enabling rapid industrial growth and military production. 47 48
  • The incomplete Aether Phase Engine is intended to enable humanity's next great ascension and serve as a safeguard against existential threats. 18 19

Artificial Intelligences and Nanite Forces

The Federation relies on advanced artificial intelligences for command, analysis, and force projection. 25 32

  • Thousand Year Stars are the Federation's most powerful AIs, though even thirteen units could not decipher the Hunter's super-dimensional algorithms. 25 34
  • Gray Wind can produce the Gray Gu Storm: nanite clusters that imitate Federation warships and form temporary fleets. 35
  • Gray Wind can theoretically reproduce without limit, though available resources constrain practical deployment; she could form roughly 300,000 Afang Palace-class Titan Warships. 35
  • Star Array Intelligence was obtained as a Calamity Deterrence reward and introduced Xidra, another nano-mechanical swarm intelligence with superior algorithmic capabilities. 32 33 34

Story Role / Major Arcs

Transmigration and Galactic Grand Expedition

After arriving in the new Milky Way with only 500 star systems, the Federation reorganized its fleets and launched the Galactic Grand Expedition. Its stated objective was the conquest of the entire galaxy and the removal of all native civilizations from its claimed territory. 1 5 18

Solar System Conquest

The Federation issued Earth a demand for total disarmament, annihilated the Taotie Fleet, invaded Earth, defeated its defenders, and captured the Solar System. It then held a galaxy-wide ceremony declaring Earth reclaimed after 930 years. 4 5 6 12

Angel Nebula Campaign

The Federation imprisoned Angel envoys for espionage, demanded dark-matter tribute from the Angel Civilization, and used diplomacy as a prelude to conquest. Its Falling Star Sky Spears devastated the Angel Nebula, while the Tianshu Sacred Shield repelled the Final Defense Protocol's counterstrike. 14 16 17 29 31

Andromeda Intervention

Concerned that the Cyberlex–Purification Protocol war could spread from Andromeda to the Milky Way, the Federation entered an alliance with Cyberlex. It committed Gray Gu Storm fleets and potential cross-galaxy strike support against the Purification Protocol. 35 37 38

Accelerated Expansion

Facing Hunters, World Breakers, the incomplete Aether Phase Engine, and multiple frontier crises, the Federation activated the Spacetime Acceleration Protocol. Ten accelerated years transformed its industry, dark-matter infrastructure, and fleet composition before it resumed operations against civilizations such as the Mottled Blue Galactic Empire. 47 48 49 50
