"Single arm strength close to 5 tons, jump height over 5 meters, distance over 10 meters, average speed 56 kilometers per hour, 1000 meters in 50 seconds..."
"Harry, you..."
When Conners examined Harry's body, he found that Harry's muscle cells were different from ordinary people's, so Harry simply confessed—he had long since ceased to be an ordinary person.
And these stats were definitely not Harry's limit, since he hadn't undergone any systematic training yet.
"That's not the point, Doctor." Harry reminded Conners.
"Right..." With that, Conners pulled out another report. "I used the RNA virus isolated from your father's body to run a test, and I didn't find the same RNA virus in your system."
"So it's not some hereditary disease? I've never heard of any ancestors having this condition either."
"Not necessarily. First, the body modifications you performed on yourself may have overcome the virus. Second, RNA viruses can have long incubation periods—it's entirely possible for an infected person to live out a normal life."
Harry pressed a hand to his forehead. There was no point in tracing whether this disease was hereditary anymore; the key was how to deal with it.
"Doctor, remember your experiment?"
Conners froze for a moment. Of course he remembered.
He had now fully accepted the mechanical prosthetic—this hand was far more useful than a real one.
Thanks to Harry's technology, this mechanical hand not only provided extremely realistic force feedback but could also be fitted with various research instruments, making it very convenient.
Besides, the superconducting nerve fibers were about to be officially put into use. By then, the mechanical prosthetic could even be more dexterous than a normal arm.
Could Harry be thinking of picking up that research again? Conners could certainly understand Harry's reasoning.
"You want to use the lizard's regenerative ability to overcome this virus?" Conners rubbed his chin. "It might work, but self-healing can only make you appear normal on the surface. This is still a virus—we need other ways to deal with it."
"Also... the Lizard Serum isn't safe. I wouldn't recommend it as a treatment option."
Harry found it both amusing and exasperating. Conners, now that he had a mechanical hand, had completely forgotten his former dream and was actually trying to talk him out of it.
Was this the inescapable law of "it smells good once you try it"?
But honestly, Harry also thought it was unlikely that enhanced self-healing could eliminate the virus. Still, he had to give it a shot.
"Let's try it first." Harry pulled out a case from behind him.
Inside were four containers of different colors—the Green Goblin Enhancer, Peter's blood, the Spider Serum, and the Lizard Serum.
"I want you to see if you can combine these three things and overcome their respective flaws."
Conners thought for a moment and nodded.
After handing the reagents to Conners, Harry walked into the hospital room.
Norman had regained consciousness, with Heli attending to him.
After the onset, the disease had worsened rapidly. Patches of green stratum corneum had already appeared on Norman's body, and his complexion was deathly pale.
The look Norman gave Harry was that of a man on his deathbed. Perhaps because the transmigrated Harry made him feel immensely proud, his gaze was far gentler than Harry had expected.
There was no resentment or regret of a dying man—only a hint of regret.
"Son, it looks like I won't be running for US President."
"Father, I will cure you." Harry shook his head. "Do you know the source of this disease? When did you contract it?"
After a moment of silence, Norman spoke the truth.
"It might be hereditary. There are records of some clan members who died young from a peculiar form of cancer—their skin would turn into a green stratum corneum."
"But it could also be... the Enhancer Project."
Norman's words shocked Harry—he thought he had already convinced Norman not to use the Green Goblin Enhancer!
Seeing Harry's expression, Norman laughed.
"What? I never said I injected that stuff." Norman knew exactly what Harry was thinking. In fact, if it weren't for Harry, he really might have gone through with the injection.
After a pause, as if recalling something, Norman continued.
"I extracted the base material for the enhancer from a set of biological fossils. It was an RNA virus. This virus can cause genetic mutations in organisms and strengthen the human body, but it has a very severe negative effect on the brain—it can even cause a complete loss of consciousness."
"I tried to remove the side effects, but you know what happened after that. I failed. No matter what I tried, the virus's alteration of the brain was violent and irreversible. The side effects of the enhancer now are already very mild compared to the original version."
"I might have been infected with this virus during the experiments."
Harry's brow furrowed tightly. This ambiguous truth was far removed from any version of the plot he knew.
A strange sense of dislocation suddenly rose in Harry's heart—had he missed something?
And that virus... it sounded familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen it.
"Father, what about that set of biological fossils? Where did you put them?"
"In the secret lab. I froze them."
As if worried Harry would recklessly rush off to study the thing, Norman added:
"That thing is dangerous! Son, don't study it. It's dangerous!"
Under Norman and Heli's watchful eyes, Harry nodded.
But he had to go see what that thing was.
"I understand, Father. I know my limits."
"Then go on and get to work. Doctor Connors is here to keep an eye on me, and the company is thriving—I never expected you'd manage to take down Stark Industries." Norman patted Harry on the shoulder.
Harry smiled and tapped on his phone. "Stark Industries is just the beginning. Actually, I prepared a gift for you. I was going to give it to you after the speech."
A sharp whoosh cut through the air outside the window, as if something was flying past at high speed.
Under Norman's puzzled gaze, a Green Goblin glider flew in.
"My glider!" It was clear Norman truly loved the glider—his face flushed with color at the sight of it. "It looks different? You improved its propulsion system, didn't you?" He gently ran his hands over the glider. "Not being able to use it myself has always been my regret."
"Yes, I added an Electric Propulsion System. Also, I developed a suit for the glider that helps the user counteract the adverse effects of high-speed movement."
"That means your invention will have a chance to see the light of day." Harry had always been dedicated to this—both for his father's sake and for the security force he was planning to assemble.
