Swamp Demon Domain

The two advanced cautiously, keeping their divine sense compressed within the domain's range and not daring to extend it carelessly, lest it be swallowed by something unknown.

After walking roughly a hundred zhang, they came upon a relatively open patch ahead. At its center lay a small pool of murky gray water.

Scattered along the pool's edge were stark white bones—some human-shaped, others belonging to various Demon Beasts. Their surfaces were smooth, as though they had been meticulously picked clean and sucked dry.

"Looks like this really is its dining hall." Lu Chen swept his gaze over the bones before settling it on the pool. The water was deathly still, without a single ripple, yet it gave off the sense of unfathomable depths concealing peril.

Suddenly, a bubble rose from the center of the pool with a "glug."

Then came a second, a third...

The murky gray water began to churn, as though something were rapidly rising from below.

"Stay alert!" Lu Chen shifted Yun Qingyue slightly behind him.

"Splash—!"

Water sprayed in all directions as three "things" crawled out of the pool.

They were three skeletons! Yet they were not loose piles of bones. Gray-black matter, like congealed mud, had glued them together into rough human and beastly shapes.

One was a humanoid skeleton wielding a bone blade;

One was the skeleton of some canine Demon Beast, down on all fours, faint green flames flickering in its eyes;

The last was the skeletal wing frame of some enormous, unknown bird, hovering low in the air.

Dense deathly aura and resentment radiated from them, their strength fluctuations ranging from mid to late Xiantian.

"Bone demons? Undead?" Yun Qingyue said in surprise. "This Swamp Demon can actually control the bones of the dead in battle!"
