Lu Chen waved a hand, stowing the storage Magic Items of the three assassins, then turned to look at them and said calmly, "Great Xia, Lu Chen. No need to repay me. Just give me the Dragon Scale Fruit."
At his words, the bearded man and the others all changed expression. They exchanged glances, struggle flickering in their eyes.
They had gone through great trouble to find the Dragon Scale Fruit, yet the man before them had just saved their lives, and his strength was terrifying beyond measure...
Gritting his teeth, the bearded man took a jade box from his robes and offered it with both hands. "D-Duke Lu! So it was the Duke himself! Your grace in saving our lives cannot be repaid. This Dragon Scale Fruit... should rightfully be presented to you, Duke!"
Though the companions behind him were reluctant, none dared object.
Lu Chen took the jade box and opened it. Inside were three thumb-sized fruits, silver-white throughout and covered in fine, dragon-scale-like patterns. They gave off a faint Dragon Aura and a delicate fragrance. They were indeed Dragon Scale Fruits.
He took one out, then tossed the remaining two, along with the jade box, back to the bearded man. "One is enough for me. Keep the rest yourselves. This is no place to linger. Leave quickly and find somewhere safe to tend your wounds."
The bearded man caught the jade box and froze. Then gratitude flooded his face. "Your grace is boundless, Duke! We will engrave it upon our hearts! Should you ever have need of us, everyone in Iron Fist Sect will brave death ten thousand times without hesitation!"
They had thought the Dragon Scale Fruits were as good as lost, but Lu Chen had taken only one—and even reminded them to leave.
