I could draw my blade quickly.
Holding the scabbard in one hand and the back of the blade in the other, I slid it into the scabbard and stood it aside. Then the young monk hurried over from a distance, carrying a wooden tray.
The towel and tea were all ready.
I patted the young monk's bald head, picked up the towel, and wiped the sweat from my face. It was already completely soaked with my sweat and smelled faintly of flowers.
Damn, before the apocalypse, I would've been a full-on human air freshener.
After wiping off the sweat, I picked up the teacup and gulped down a few mouthfuls. I felt a lot better.
The young monk immediately carried the tray back and set it on the stone table, then picked up my clothes.
"Benefactor~ Your clothes~"
The young monk was only seven. It must have been hard for him to carry my clothes, but even running that fast, he hadn't stumbled. Maybe that was because the old monk often took him into the mountains. After all, the paths in the woods were much harder to walk than this flat little trail.

I'd just picked up my clothes when I heard the young monk ask.
My hand paused. To be honest, I disliked children, especially brats. But I didn't know if it was because of the apocalypse; most of the kids I'd met since then hadn't been little terrors. So this adorable child seemed quite lovable to me.
I had to admit, children had sharp eyes. I hadn't said I was leaving, but he'd figured it out anyway.
"Yeah, it's about time. I can't keep staying at the temple. I should head down the mountain."
I answered as I put on my outer
