What surprised me even more was that the thin bolt of lightning stayed connected to my forehead. The burning pain from the scorch wound spread from between my brows, then suddenly snapped off!

Gritting my teeth against the searing pain between my brows, I forced myself to endure it and reached up to touch the spot. Damn it, was my face disfigured?
