It really was a simple yet cruel name.
"Cuncun, hurry and say hello to the pretty big sister."
"Hello, pretty big sister~"
"Ah~ hello, Zhang Cun."
Children were always naive. Although they were evil by nature, as they learned more, they would get better.
I had always believed that human nature was evil. It was a tenet I'd held onto for as long as I could remember.
But nothing was absolute. Even innate evil could be changed through morality, education, and understanding.
But without a good education, enough understanding, or moral boundaries, a child would grow up on the wrong path.
Of course, it depended on the parents. At least, I thought I'd done a decent job raising Juanjuan.
Looking at the child, I couldn't help thinking of Juanjuan, and my eyes grew warm.
Unnoticed, a tear slid down my cheek. I only snapped out of it when my face started to itch.
"Ah~ sorry. Seeing the child reminded me of... Hehe, you know."
I gave Zhang Min a bitter smile, and he nodded gravely.
"You don't have anywhere to stay yet, right? If you don't mind, come over to my place. It's not exactly a nice
place, but at least it's better than staying outside."
"Mm, thank you."
The man smiled, then took off his backpack. He locked up the shotgun and set it aside, then took out a whole pile of water bottles
and started filling them at the pool.
Seeing this, I wasn't sure whether I should tell him I'd already bathed in it.
After hesitating for a while, I watched as the man kept filling bottles and gave a wry smile.
"Um... sorry, I just... in the water..."
"Ah~ I can tell you've washed in it. I'm a married man myself, you know. But it's fine.
