A chorus of insect shrieks came from that enormous mouth. I immediately pulled my foot back from the ground,

then spun around and leaped backward, landing

on the ground in a roll.

As I rolled, the ground surged, and one enormous flower-shaped mouth after another rose up before snapping shut.

Fortunately, I rolled fast enough to dodge them. But I couldn't keep this up. After rolling five or six meters,

As soon as I cut the insect open, the ground all around me began to surge. Every hair on my body stood on end. The feeling of standing in the middle of a swarm of insects made my skin crawl.
