I pulled out two mushrooms that looked fresh, one in each hand. Hugging the two enormous mushrooms, which weighed at least a hundred kilograms altogether, I headed
back.
I didn't like eating the roots of mushrooms, but they were essential for making soup, so I reluctantly used my knife to cut them into
a big pile of thin strips and set them aside. Then I fished out all the cooked snake meat and shredded it into strips. I changed the water in the pot, tossed in the mushrooms and some other ingredients I'd found,
and added a bit of dried tangerine peel for good measure.
I'd found all of these sealed seasonings at a supermarket in this small county town. They should be fine for at least three to five years.
There were over a hundred kilograms of snake meat, over a hundred kilograms of mushrooms, and a massive pot five meters across.
Who knew why this city had such a huge pot?
It was convenient for me, though. Otherwise, I really wouldn't have known how to cook so much food.
