Down.
"Gin-san! Keep moving forward, don't stop! Watch your surroundings!"
Looking at the huge rock on the ground, Gin-san nodded at me and got back up. At that moment, I also
pulled a coin out of my backpack and looked
toward the direction the rock had come from.
There wasn't a second rock yet, but it was obvious that the target had been Gin-san. These bugs must have done it.
But I didn't think it was the kind of bug right in front of us. It had to be another species.
I put the coin in my mouth and resumed clearing out the bugs around Gin-san. They were no match for me, but there were just too many. For every hundred I killed,
another thousand rushed in.
Though they had the advantage of numbers, the swarm seemed to grow frantic as I continued cutting them down.
All the bugs began to retreat. Seeing this, I froze for a moment, then felt a sudden, ominous premonition.
Without thinking, I looked into the distance.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
Dozens of enormous rocks suddenly shot out from the foot of a distant mountain. Seeing this, I understood: the bugs planned to kill Gin-san and me first,
then continue their attack on the Longnan Base, right?
Otherwise, they wouldn't waste so many rocks attacking us!
"Gin-san, watch the sky!"
I shouted, and Gin-san turned to look at the rocks flying overhead. But there wasn't much it could do, because
it couldn't fly, either.
But... I could!
I still hadn't gotten the hang of it completely, but I should be able to make it into the air, even if I flew a little unsteadily.
With that thought, I pushed off the ground, and my whole body rose into the air. The scenery rushed past
