Uncle immediately leaped up, soaring into the air and swatting the ball away.
But the very next second, the referee called another foul.
Uncle had only just landed, but he immediately sprang back up.
Unhappy with the call, he bounced over with his hands spread and went to plead his case with the baseline referee.
When that got him nowhere, he turned straight to the coaching staff on the bench, hoping to ask for a challenge.
Unfortunately, he'd forgotten that the Thunder had already used their challenge in the Third Quarter...
So in the end, all the team could do was watch regretfully as Aaron Gordon stepped to the free-throw line.
Meanwhile, Little Jordan's four fouls, which he'd held onto for nearly half a quarter, had now climbed to five.
After some hesitation, the coaching staff decided to bring Alexander in for Uncle.
After all, there were still more than three minutes left in the game. They would likely need Uncle during the decisive stretch at the end.
Once Alexander entered the game, Davis moved back to center, while Chen Xi shifted over to small forward again.
Luckily, Batum was still on the court. At least that meant they had someone besides Chen Xi who could provide an answer from beyond the arc...
Gordon stepped to the free-throw line, took a deep breath, and gently sent the ball on its way.
Swish~~
The ball dropped cleanly through the net.
His free-throw percentage this season was only 70.8%, but so far, Gordon's shooting in clutch moments seemed worthy of a little trust.
The Thunder then made their substitutions.
Chen Xi walked to one side of the free-throw line, bent over with his hands on his knees, and tilted his head slightly.
His gaze settled on Gordon. It didn't look particularly threatening.
