At that moment, the fleet's "decisive battle" in the Red Crown B system seemed to be nearing its end. As expected, the clash between the two Titan ships had ended in a temporary stalemate, with neither side able to get the better of the other.

The battle wasn't over yet. The two sides still came up with impressive responses now and then, and the fighting continued—attacks and counterattacks, encirclements and breakouts, attempts to split the enemy and efforts to prevent it. Even so, neither Imperial fleet had lost its unified command. That alone was enough to leave the experts among the nations' observation delegations enthralled. But General Griffiths seemed to find the rest of the battle dull. After seeing another battlecruiser from each side ruled sunk and removed from the field, he said, "There's nothing worth watching anymore. I still have to head down to the surface later, so I'll take my leave."

The way he put it... made it sound as if the fighting of nearly ten million soldiers on both sides was just a game that had entered garbage time. If there hadn't been any Imperial military personnel in the observation post, those words alone would have been enough to cause a diplomatic incident.

Yu Lian suddenly thought that if all the Palai leadership were like General Griffiths, it was a testament to the Iron Legion Combine's restraint that it hadn't been wiped out.
