Background

Ye Yu was once regarded as the foremost genius of his generation in Arbor God City; his talent, looks, and bearing overshadowed other youths before Awakening Day 1 14. Following his awakening, however, he received the Human race as his believer race and was widely considered a failed or “trash” god 2.

Unlike the native Humans scorned by the other new gods, Ye Yu's believers are Earth Humans brought into the Immortal Path as Players. Their ability to revive indefinitely gives him an advantage unavailable to ordinary deities, whose believers suffer permanent losses in Divine Wars 2 8 247. He founded the Lingxiao Immortal Palace and became its Palace Lord, personally establishing its cultivation system before gradually delegating its daily operation to the Little System, Players, and NPCs 5 8 151 280.

Ye Yu later learns that he is a descendant of the Myriad Worlds Ye Family and a participant in its lethal Gu Raising Plan. His mother died early, his father Ye Wushuang neglected him, and Ye Meng took him in during childhood. Ye Meng sealed his memories and sent him to Earth, giving him access to the Little System when the competition began 434. Of the ten candidates in his generation, only Ye Yu and his cousin Ye Yun remain 434 532.

Ye Yu is repeatedly noted for his exceptional appearance and composed presence, qualities that once made him the most admired youth in Arbor God City 14.

Ye Yu is calm, opportunistic, and highly strategic. Rather than accepting the weak reputation imposed on him after awakening, he immediately recognizes the potential of Earth Players and builds his entire growth strategy around their unlimited revival and unpredictable ingenuity 2 8 11. He prefers preparation, intelligence gathering, and decisive preemptive action over fair confrontation 15 66 396.

He is also sardonic and enjoys turning an opponent's words or expectations against them. He openly provokes Shabi after defeating Wodema, manipulates Ma Baoguo's attempted provocation, and takes amusement in Qian Ye Yu becoming the Players' new target of excessive enthusiasm 15 50 59.

Despite this ruthlessness, Ye Yu is protective of people he accepts as his own. He repeatedly protects Xiao Gui, values Xiao Gui's loyalty, feeds him during periods of distress, and makes plans to keep Xiao Gui and his younger brother safe from Ye Yun 97 339 531.

New God Divine Wars

Viewed as easy prey, Ye Yu becomes the target of Ma Baoguo, Wodema, and other new gods. He turns their attempts to hunt him into opportunities to seize Divine Sparks, expand his Divine Domain, and establish a fearsome reputation 15 48 50.

Conflict with Sui Xin and Mijie

After Sui Xin targets him as an unpredictable threat, Ye Yu prepares Players and NPCs for larger Divine Wars. He ultimately destroys Mijie's forces, later devours Mijie's and Sui Xin's Divine Sparks, and enters the Lesser God realm 59 151 224.

Origin Fragments and Materialization

After receiving an Origin Fragment from Xiao Gui, Ye Yu pursues further fragments to unlock the ability to bring Immortal Path Players and NPCs into the real World of Gods 89 271 323 346.
