Lin Mo first retrieved the thin shard he had used to open the door, then took the lead, turning into a passageway and heading deeper into the cave abode.
Shi Lan followed close behind.
The cave abode ran deep, burrowing far into the mountain range. Night pearls were embedded in both sides of the passageway, illuminating it as brightly as day.
After walking nearly a hundred meters along the passageway, they came upon another cavern. It was not very large, only a dozen or so zhang across, and held numerous bookshelves. Hundreds of books rested on them, all immaculate.
The world's spiritual energy was a little richer in this cavern. The fragrant scent Shi Lan had noticed outside the cave abode had grown even stronger.
Shi Lan walked around the cavern and soon discovered a simple magic formation. It only kept insects away and dust at bay, drawing on the spiritual energy in the air to operate.
She picked up a few books from the shelves and leafed through them. Their subjects were varied, covering alchemy, talismans, and formations to some degree.
Shi Lan skimmed a couple of pages, then tossed them aside. The cultivation arts here didn't suit her, and their highest level only reached roughly the equivalent of the Tiangang Realm. They were utterly useless to her.
But since cultivation arts of this level existed here, this world might once have enjoyed a glorious age. At the very least, it had once been home to warriors equivalent to those of the Tiangang Realm.
When Liang Yunnan and the others saw so many books, especially the cultivation arts, they grew excited. These would be quite useful to them.

Along the way, they passed two more
