The invitation was blue-white all over, with the texture of jade. Subtle cloud-brocade patterns adorned its surface, and a golden border ran around its edges. Several layers of formations had been engraved upon it. It was plainly a top-grade magical artifact, impervious to water and fire and imperishable for a thousand years.
Using a top-grade magical artifact as an invitation was a display of wealth Shi Lan had never seen before.

There was little written in the invitation: only the four characters for Yunlai Immortal Palace, along with her name, the date she was to be received, and the address.
The date was two months away, still some time off.
As she gazed at the invitation, its golden border set against a cloud-white background, Shi Lan felt an inexplicable twinge of unease.
The Heavenly Prodigy Roll had brought her immense fame, but it had also thrust her into the public eye. A tall tree catches the wind; without a doubt, this would bring her a lot of unnecessary trouble.
