Background / History

Zi Shou transmigrated into the body of King Zhou during the Investiture of the Gods era. He awakened to find Great Shang fated to fall, Xiqi destined to rise, and Goddess Nüwa already offended by his predecessor’s conduct. Rather than accept this outcome, he resolved to oppose the gods, Buddhas, and Heaven itself. 1

As a direct descendant of Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor and Emperor Ku, he possesses a pure Human Emperor bloodline and the Innate Saintly Physique and Dao Embryo needed to inherit Emperor Wushi’s legacy. The Hall of Heroes of the Human Emperors recognized him, granting access to imperial inheritances, the Luck Torch, and the Great Emperor’s Arena. 3

His early reign focused on reversing King Zhou’s reputation and restoring Great Shang. He issued an Edict of Self-Reproach, resumed daily court sessions, recalled Grand Tutor Wen, and publicly rejected the premise that humanity should beg Heaven for forgiveness. 5 6 7

Zi Shou’s reforms improved agriculture, literacy, administration, and cultivation across Great Shang. His personal prestige and the Human Race’s Fortune rose alongside these changes, strengthening both his Luck Torch and cultivation. 10 14 98 99

Personality

Zi Shou is defiant toward predestination. His central conviction is that the human race should control its own affairs rather than submit to Heaven or rely on divine favor. 7 11 107

He is pragmatic and politically calculating. He uses public opinion, reforms, strategic rewards, imprisonment, and controlled conflict to weaken threats before they can become irreversible. He spared Ji Chang in Youli to prevent the immediate emergence of another rebellion leader, while intercepting Ji Chang’s Merit of a Sage. 6 53 62

Although initially inexperienced and vulnerable to manipulation, his experiences through reincarnation across a hundred lives tempered his mentality. He became markedly calmer when dealing with Su Daji and the Xuanyuan Tomb Three Demons. 44

He remains composed before figures vastly above ordinary mortals, including Sage Tongtian and Goddess Nüwa. He gives due respect without becoming servile. 106 129
