This enormous, vivid-red mosquito had originally been fleeing toward Sky Fortress No. 2. But after spotting Reilo and [Panic Howler] Nicole along the way, it had veered slightly and approached them.
"Please, lend me a hand!"
The giant mosquito was incredibly fast, apparently matching the Bone Abyss Flying Scorpion in speed. Shelly Rax called out, sounding perfectly sincere.
Reilo and Nicole stayed where they were, seeming ready to join forces with her against their pursuers. But once the [Blood Mosquito Queen] drew near, it suddenly let out a triumphant, scheming cackle. Without stopping, it sped right past them.
"Heh heh heh! Please keep them occupied here for a while. I'll go back and fetch help for you!"
The Blood Mosquito vanished in a flash, moving so fast that it broke the sound barrier. It had clearly intended to use the two of them as decoys.
"Damn it!"
[Panic Howler] Nicole's face twisted with fury.
If not for the fact that the [Sun Power] Reilo beside her hadn't yet made a move, she would have chased after the mosquito long ago.
Only after the Blood Mosquito disappeared into the night did she glance at Reilo, who still hadn't moved, and mutter angrily, "Shameless, despicable coward."
Meanwhile,
