Squeak, squeak, squeak...
A flock of Bonewing Demons flew past. They belonged to a close relative of the Fallen Bone Demons, and looked like a horde of grotesque bats. Taking advantage of the pitch-black night sky, thousands of them flew in dense, tightly packed groups toward a distant floating metal fortress, baring their fangs and claws.
There were countless such demonic creatures.
By comparison, this Dark Sparrow, barely a few inches long, was easy to overlook.
It flapped its wings and flew toward the distance. No one knew where it was headed. At last, it landed atop an astonishingly enormous creature.
The Nine-Headed Worm Demon King noticed the little thing.
"Whose pet are you, little one?"
The creature was a hundred meters long, with a rough carapace and nine heads, each baring its fangs and claws!
With a body of such immense size, it would have ranked among the largest Ancient Creatures.
Unfortunately, the Nine-Headed Worms were not especially gifted in the Underground World. This one had only become a Demon King a few decades ago, and had been conscripted by the God of Devouring. Its status in the invasion force was not particularly high.
Aside from their incomparably huge bodies, Nine-Headed Worms possessed an unbelievably keen sense of smell. This was an evolved talent they had developed after losing their eyes, allowing them to detect the presence of their superiors through their bloodline instincts.
The Dark Sparrow perched on one of the Nine-Headed Worm's heads. Its left eye, a pitch-black vortex, gazed at the enormous creature.
"Still haven't figured out who I am?"
The Dark Sparrow's words made the curious Nine-Headed Worm jolt in shock.
"Y-you're the Dark Curse Elder?!"
It stretched out all nine heads and said incredulously, "Why would you come here? Given your status, you could
