"Doctor," Fatty said as he watched Jiang Cheng finish his second bowl of rice, "Slow down, no one's going to snatch it from you."
Jiang Cheng poured himself a bowl of soup, downed it with a gulp, and put the bowl down, wiping his mouth with a napkin with satisfaction. At this point, Fatty had only managed to eat half of his first bowl of rice.
Jiang Cheng asked in a concerned tone, "Why aren't you eating any vegetables?"
Fatty glanced at the two small pieces of potato left on the plate and the single cabbage leaf swirling in the soup pot. He slowly put down his chopsticks. "Doctor," he said, looking up, "I'm on a diet recently."
"Oh," Jiang Cheng nodded, "Then I won't urge you to eat."
After the meal, Fatty went to the kitchen to wash the dishes as usual. Jiang Cheng sat at the desk in his studio, the crisp sound of his keyboard typing betraying a hint of carelessness.
After washing the dishes, Fatty sat on the sofa and asked Jiang Cheng, while drying his hands, if this studio only dealt with mental health issues for patients. Jiang Cheng gave an affirmative answer.
Fatty blinked, as if something was bothering him. "Doctor, I saw a lot of medicine in the kitchen cabinet earlier, but most of them were for treating external injuries and pain relief. Why are you stocking these?"
Jiang Cheng looked very healthy. Fatty even felt that even if he ate to his heart's content, he might not be a match for him. It was clear that this wasn't for his own use.
Unexpectedly, when Jiang Cheng heard Fatty's words, he seemed to seriously consider it. He then walked to the kitchen and took out a box of cooling pain relief patches.
Tearing open the box, Jiang Cheng took out a patch and turned around, staring at Fatty with a scrutinizing gaze.
He would occasionally lower his head to look at the pain relief patch in his hand.
Fatty was bewildered by Jiang Cheng's stare and suddenly had a bad premonition. "Doctor," he said hurriedly, "Why are you looking at me?"
"Nothing," Jiang Cheng put away the pain relief patch, returned it to its original place, and walked back to his desk to sit down, as if nothing had happened.
Fatty was suspicious at first, but when he thought about the nightmare, he felt that nothing else mattered.
The afternoon passed by uneventfully. While there were no customers, Fatty tidied up the area in front of the door again. When he returned, he actually dozed off on the sofa.
When he woke up, it was already dark. Fatty rubbed his eyes and realized that Jiang Cheng, who had been at the desk, was gone. He turned his head and found that Jiang Cheng was not in the kitchen either. He jolted awake.
It was dark, and no one could predict when a nightmare might strike. Without Jiang Cheng, any nightmare would be a disaster for him.
"Doctor?" Fatty called out.
The surroundings were silent, and no one answered.
Fatty panicked. Just as he was about to go upstairs to look, the door suddenly opened, and a tall, thin shadow appeared first.
Jiang Cheng walked in carrying several large bags. He closed the door casually.
Fatty seemed to have found hope and said excitedly, "Where did you go?"
Jiang Cheng handed some of the bags to the approaching Fatty. Fatty saw that inside were small boxes, all the medicine he had seen in the cabinet that afternoon.
"These are."
"Medicine," Jiang Cheng took off his coat and hung it on the hanger. He turned and said, "Just put them in the cabinet you saw this afternoon."
"Doctor, why did you buy so much medicine?"
Jiang Cheng walked to the shelf where the patient records were kept, pulled out a red-marked record, and replied nonchalantly as he opened it, "For future use."
Fatty's doubts deepened. There were only the two of them here, and neither of them was injured. Who was all this medicine for?
Suddenly, a scene he had witnessed in the villa flashed through his mind. Fatty's thighs went cold, and sweat broke out on his forehead.
He suspected that Jiang Cheng might be a pervert, planning to imprison him long-term, just like the family in the villa from the mission.
Those external injury medicines and painkillers were for him, to prevent him from dying from serious injuries.
The more Fatty thought about it, the more likely it seemed. Jiang Cheng's initial claim of wanting to drive him away now seemed like a tactic to make him stay.
No wonder he could see through the villa family's plot so quickly. They were the same kind of people!
That's why he could see through their trap at a glance!
He had to find a way to escape from here, and the sooner the better.
As his eyes darted around, racking his brain for a reason to leave the studio without arousing Jiang Cheng's suspicion, Jiang Cheng's voice suddenly came, "No one would be interested in imprisoning and abusing a Fatty."
Fatty looked sharply at Jiang Cheng, realizing he was leaning against the desk, flipping through the medical record, not even looking up.
Jiang Cheng turned a page and continued, "Your legs are on you, you can leave anytime. But I have to tell you, once you leave this door, don't even think about coming back."
"Can I really leave?" Hearing Jiang Cheng say that, Fatty became uncertain again. Although this person in front of him seemed a bit strange, and his thinking was a bit skewed from that of a normal person, he didn't seem like a vicious villain.
A few seconds later, Fatty made up his mind. "Doctor, I think it's better for me to stay. We can look out for each other."
He paused, licked his lips, and said sheepishly, "But can you tell me what these medicines are for?"
"Hoo--" Jiang Cheng seemed to have finished with his task, put away the record, and then looked up at Fatty, his eyes seeming to ask if he really wanted to know.
Fatty nodded repeatedly.
Jiang Cheng pursed his lips with a hint of helplessness, as if after careful consideration, he sighed, "Alright, I'll tell you, but you absolutely cannot reveal this secret. It's very important to me."
Fatty was infected by Jiang Cheng's demeanor and became serious, straightening his back. The scene was as solemn as an oath.
He had a vague guess that Jiang Cheng might have some unspeakable hidden illness, which is why he needed these medicines.
He remembered Jiang Cheng saying something like "30 seconds is enough" when facing Chen Xiaomeng.
He might not have been lying.
Fatty suddenly began to pity the good-looking man in front of him.
He sighed, thinking that heaven was indeed fair. Everyone had their deepest pain, hidden in their hearts, unknown to others. And now Jiang Cheng was willing to confide in him.
With this thought, Fatty looked at Jiang Cheng with eyes full of encouragement. "I'm ready, you can start."
"Okay," Jiang Cheng nodded. "The bandages are to tie you up. The medical tape can effectively seal your mouth to prevent you from screaming and attracting the police. The painkillers can ensure you stay conscious while being abused. I also have two boxes of stimulants, but please understand, they are not easy to buy and are quite expensive, so whether you get to use them depends on your fate." Jiang Cheng seemed to suddenly think of something and continued, "Oh, right, I've also prepared some hallucinogens to mix into your water. Don't worry, I'll give it to you to drink later."
Fatty: "???"
