Only Toradora! and Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun could just about keep up with its huge popularity. Their names were the only ones turning up on 2D Fans' forums.

As for those supposedly big-budget anime that everyone had pinned their hopes on at the start, their numbers weren't bad, strictly speaking. They'd even exceeded the production companies' expectations.
